Depression
Depression can leave us feeling exhausted, disconnected, or like we are stuck in a deep, dark hole and there is no way out. It can last anywhere from two weeks to many years; it can be persistent or come and go; range from mild to severe.
There are some behavioral changes that can really help make a difference: getting enough sleep, eating a well-balanced diet, exercising, connecting to friends and family, having a good work-life balance and self-care routine. However, a sign of depression is a loss of interest in things we used to do, therefore, it is often difficult to find the motivation to do the things that might make us feel better. That is why depression is often treated with both medication and psychotherapy.
