WHY EMDR?
Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) is a specialized and evidence-based form of psychotherapy designed to support individuals in processing distressing memories and overcoming emotional blocks. EMDR often facilitates noticeable progress in a shorter period of time and can be particularly effective for those who have not experienced relief through other therapeutic approaches, even after extended treatment.
EMDR offers a powerful method for addressing long-standing negative thought patterns and emotional challenges that may be limiting your personal growth and well-being. EMDR works just as well virtually as it does in person so I’m able to help anyone located in California. I provide personalized support and guidance to help you heal, grow, and move forward with confidence.
EMDR can help you:
Reduce anxiety, stress, and trauma-related symptoms
Feel more grounded and less triggered
Shift negative beliefs and build self-confidence and self-worth
Experience emotional freedom and lasting change
WHO CAN BENEFIT FROM EMDR?
EMDR was developed to address Post Traumatic Stress Disorder, however growing research has shown it can greatly benefit those with unresolved memories, anxiety disorders, depression, eating disorders, ruminations and negative thoughts, and persistent behavioral patterns that are difficult to change. EMDR often facilitates faster and more profound breakthroughs than traditional therapeutic methods, enabling clients to make meaningful progress in less time.

Individual Therapy
You may be contemplating therapy to help you navigate through challenging life transitions, manage stress, address persistent worries and intrusive thoughts, or manage your depression. Alternatively, you might want to gain a deeper understanding of recurring patterns, overcome feelings of stagnation in your career or relationships, or gain insight into your identity and values. Or perhaps, you simply require a safe haven to explore your thoughts and unload your burdens.
We all experience times when we feel stuck or overwhelmed. It can be difficult to identify the underlying reasons, and even when we acknowledge them, it doesn’t assure us that we’ll possess the means to enact the essential changes needed to live a satisfying life.
For all of the issues listed above, Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) can help. I like to focus on EMDR therapy; however I also specialize in CBT, somatic work and mindfulness and use an integrative approach when necessary.
Couples Therapy
Choosing couples therapy is often a sign of commitment to the relationship and can demonstrate a desire to strengthen a bond. Couples may seek therapy to address issues from their past, address current challenges, or prepare for the future. Other common reasons include difficulties in communication, differences in parenting styles, loss of intimacy, trust issues, struggles with addiction, or navigating major life transitions. Additionally, one or both partners may be dealing with anxiety or depression. However, it's important to note that couples don't necessarily need a specific problem to benefit from therapy; it can serve as a valuable space to explore thoughts, feelings, emotions, and various life situations.
Every couple encounters challenges in their relationship, and a therapist can provide effective guidance for navigating these difficulties. My role is to assist you and your partner in recognizing and modifying the patterns that have developed in your relationship in order to create a happier and healthier connection.
For couples therapy, I utilize Imago Therapy and The Gottman Method (Certified in Level I).
